Why help

Photo search finds a pin by comparing your picture with the photos already on file. Every night each approved photo is tested against all the others, and a pin is listed here while fewer than two in three of its photos would make search offer it in its top three. Each good photo moves a pin toward done, and a pin with five photos is done regardless, so this list can actually be finished.

• Retake — the photo on file is cut off, dark, or crowded by other pins. Shown small on the card.
• Mixed up — search picks the pin shown small on the card instead. A clear photo of this one sorts it out.
• Look-alike — this pin and the one shown small keep being taken for each other. Get the detail that differs, like the text, close and sharp.

Fill the frame with just this pin, on a plain background, in good light. Tap a pin, take a picture, and it is done — the pin is already known, so there is nothing to fill in. Photos are reviewed before they count.
